Who We Are

Matthews & Jaasma, L.L.P. was founded to provide exceptional yet affordable legal help and personal service to those in need.

"I've never called a lawyer before" or "I never thought I'd need a lawyer" is one of the first things most of our clients say when they call.  We understand.  People never expect to be wrongfully injured or have a loved one suffer injury or death because of someone else's actions.  And when something life-altering does happen, you need someone you can trust to listen to you, to help you understand your options, and to work hard to get you relief.

We formed Matthews & Jaasma, L.L.P. in 2013--combining our legal backgrounds and experiences in state and federal courts--for the purpose of helping our Fort Bend County neighbors in Sugar Land, Missouri City, as well as residents of the greater Houston area.  We take the skills and knowledge we gained over the years from representing clients and put it to work to get results.

Can I afford an attorney?

The cost of legal services is always a concern.  We are proud that we can keep our fees lower than many other lawyers because we keep our operating expenses low.  For some types of cases, such as personal injury, our clients will not pay a dime unless they are compensated.  We will front all costs of a case and wait to collect until the final settlement or verdict has been awarded.  And while other lawyers also offer contingency arrangements, our percentage fee is likely less, as are the hourly rates that we charge for cases that are billed by the hour, such as contract review services.  We provide flat fees for simple wills and trusts.  Contact us to discuss your legal issue and the best approach to your particular case.
